Adaptive Lighting
OmniPreSense
Overview
Adaptive lighting allows lighting levels to be driven by real time sensor data, ensuring every street has the right light at the right time. A combination of sensor technologies and data feeds can be utilised to gather a complete picture of traffic flow across the city, and then customised logic sets the rules for lighting in each area. The OPS9243 is a flexible traffic monitor for detecting vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic. The traffic monitor reports attributes which can be leveraged to inform adaptive lighting logic, via a custom CityEdge Advanced Logic Module. Itron will provide a consultation to map and design the desired Adaptive Lighting logic for the targeted areas of the city, and assist in determining sensor quantities.
